Conviction is an asset, not a problem. Our role is not to challenge it but to stress-test the assumptions underneath it. We work through the problem framing, the user motivation, the competitive landscape, and the architectural implications of the proposed direction — surfacing the risks and gaps that conviction alone cannot see. The output either strengthens the original direction with a clearer strategic foundation or reveals where specific assumptions need to be validated before engineering investment is committed.
Standard prioritisation exercises rank features against each other. Our roadmap development works backwards from strategic outcomes — market timing, investor milestones, engineering constraints, and commercial priorities — and sequences work against those anchors. Tradeoffs are made explicit rather than obscured, so leadership, engineering, and commercial teams are aligned on what is being deferred and why, not just what is being built next. The roadmap becomes a communication tool as much as a planning tool.
MVP scoping is a hypothesis problem, not a feature problem. We start by defining the core assumption the product needs to test — what must be true for this product to succeed — and then determine the minimum build required to generate credible market signal against that hypothesis. What is included is defined by what is necessary to make the test valid. What is deferred is everything that does not affect the signal. The result is an MVP that is lean enough to ship quickly and substantial enough to tell you something real.
Standard user research typically surfaces what users say they want. JTBD analysis identifies what users are actually trying to accomplish and why existing solutions — including your current product — fall short of that goal. The distinction matters because users do not always articulate the real motivation behind their behaviour. JTBD reframes product priorities around genuine unmet needs rather than assumed feature requirements, which often reveals that the highest-value opportunities are not the ones the team was already planning to build.
This is one of the most common strategic questions we work through. The starting point is not AI capabilities — it is the specific jobs your product does for users and where AI can do those jobs meaningfully better than the current approach. We identify the AI opportunities within your product context, evaluate the data requirements and architectural implications of each, and sequence them against your roadmap based on what is achievable on your current platform and what requires foundational changes first. The output is an AI strategy grounded in product reality rather than technology possibility.
