The future of front-end development – React vs Vue js

React and Vue js are both frontend development JavaScript frameworks that are popular with new and old web developers. Both tools offer complete flexibility in building various web applications and web products.

React is a JavaScript library mainly used to build effective UI. It was released in the year 2013. Vue js is an MVVM framework that is used for frontend development. It was released in the year 2014.

React is fast but if you compare it with Vue, then later is faster. React and Vue js, both the frameworks are component-based. React js app development is simple whereas Vue js app development may be complicated for new developers.

Support & Documentation

React has a huge community that supports online courses and tutorials. Vue js has a smart market share but its community is constantly growing with time. Facebook maintains React’s library and Vue js support is maintained via crowdfunding initiative.

Vue js wins in the documentation process as it has wonderful API references and documents. In simple words, Vue js is more opinionated if you compare it with React js. The documents of React may include some advance concepts but it is not well-structured.

Ecosystem & Performance

React has to be used with other libraries and Vue js is a standalone framework. React relies on all the external solutions for management and routing. Vue js has a companion library which means the functions that you require to use the library in React is already there in Vue.

You can modify data using the data property of Vue js. Both frameworks stand out in performance. Vue js is better in startup times and memory application. The speed varies depending upon the application size. Both the libraries work on server-side rendering, bundling, and tree shaking. Vue js renders well with the components.

Scalability & Deployment

Vue js app development lets you create interactive multi-app pages. You’ll be able to import the core library and inject Vue js to the existing pages. React can be used in the traditional multi-page applications. By importing the library, you can start adding the js features.

With React, using optimization workflow is simple. As the app is written in js, there is no need for HTML optimization and compilation.

With Vue js, apps are harder to deploy. For simple apps, the import is enough, with larger apps, you’ll have to use VU CLI for optimization.

The right tool – React js vs Vue js

React js framework is suitable for mobile apps, IoT solutions, cross platforms, AR apps, and web solutions. Vue js is suitable for MVP’s, SPA’s and web projects of any size. React js is stable as compared to Vue js as it uses code reusability and single way data flow.

Both the JavaScript libraries are good for building modern day app developments. Choose React js app development for a complex enterprise. Choose Vue js app development for startups and working solutions.

You need to consider budget, developer availability, and business needs into account before choosing the right framework. It also depends on your optimization efforts and application size.
